Warrigal resident Barbara Baird launched her second book: Memories, Music and My Plum Sauce recently.
Barbara, who lives independently at the age of 94, has written the book as a legacy to her children and following generations.
In her previous book My Story, Barbara Baird, illuminated her life and the building of her family. Barbara and Tom who were married for almost 70 years shared a love of life, new experiences and storytelling.
Now in a new and fascinating account the new book Memories, Music and My Plum Sauce is almost a prequel to her first book My Story as much of the content was written by Barbara and her late husband Tom, in their early years together. The book is an authentic portrait full of personal observations, in the form of poetry, prose and short stories, written by two proud Australians. The book explores a world that is largely unexplored today, yet readers will love and identify with its embrace of modern concepts.
A highlight of the book launch will be the entertainment provided by the Kiama Probus Men’s Choir. Barbara’s late husband Tom was a foundation member and part of the Choir for twenty one years. Barbara said “for as long as I knew Tom, singing was an important part of his make-up” After Tom’s passing Barbara was able to present the choir with a digital piano to allow them to continue providing entertainment, and enjoyment to many.
The book launch will be attended by family, friends, staff and residents from Warrigal Albion Park Rail.
