Warrigal launches entry level work & study program to kick-start careers in aged care

Warrigal has launched their best entry level work & study employment program to date, to assist those participating to kick-start their career in aged care.

The Kick-start Your Career program is in partnership with TAFE NSW, and will allow participants to work, earn and learn in aged care. The pathway program consists of five units taught by experienced TAFE NSW teachers, and the on-site work component will include a Warrigal expert-led ‘buddy program’ and training to set the participants up for success.

This is a rare opportunity to gain paid, on-the-job work experience while gaining a recognised qualification.

Acting Warrigal CEO, Ben Marsh said “We are excited to be able to offer this exclusive Warrigal program to our Illawarra community, as we understand how important it is getting a foot in the door in a new career. The aged care industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Australia and we want to offer the best training and career development opportunities we can, so to be able to partner with TAFE NSW on this work & study program is a real positive for us.”

He continued, “At Warrigal we have a very supportive team culture so we can set each other up for success, both personally and in our mission to support older people to live great lives. We’re looking forward to welcoming these program participants on board, and to see where their new career path takes them.”

The program will begin on June 27th 2022, however hopeful applicants have another chance of securing a place as Warrigal is still accepting applications and can be slightly flexible on the commencement date on a case-by-case basis.
