Warrigal's New Hub to Improve Customer Service Support Access

Construction has begun on a new purpose-built hub that will provide a central space for Warrigal’s administrative support staff that will help facilitate a more comfortable, welcoming and accessible customer service support centre for older people and their families.

Located adjacent to the new Oak Flats Railway Station on the main roundabout interchange entrance to Shellharbour city from the freeway at Pioneer Drive, Oak Flats, Warrigal will occupy the top two levels, catering for up to 200 staff members across two floors. Warrigal will share the building with a child care centre on Level 1, as well as a large business or retail store and café on the ground floor.

Warrigal CEO, Mark Sewell said, “Everything we do at Warrigal is about older people across our community and the staff that support them, and this new site will be a very welcoming customer service centre for older people and their families to visit our team and seek personable face-to-face support.”

“With ample parking, spacious lift access, and public transport close-by, they will be able to easily visit the centre to access all the information and support they need from the Warrigal team in order to plan their retirement housing, residential care, home services, or any other Warrigal support they choose to receive.”

With the recent addition of Warrigal Wollongong and the Links Seaside Community Village in 2022, Warrigal has continued to grow their services during the pandemic across NSW and the ACT since first beginning their operations in 1967 on Mount Warrigal just a few kilometres from this new location. This new Support Services Administration Centre will allow Warrigal to better support their 1750 staff and 300 volunteers at their 15 locations across NSW and ACT, and improve the training and development of their staff in a modern, connected and safe space – ultimately improving their services to provide older people with great lives.

“We’re looking forward to moving in next year after the building is finished, and we continue to look for ways on how we can improve the process for older people to seek support. Navigating the aged care system can be very difficult. We have an excellent customer service reputation already by phone and internet so we’re happy to offer this welcoming, safe and modern face to face space to share information on how we can support them with our Warrigal services.” Mark said.

The new building is expected to be completed in mid-2023.
